Today I am going to review two of the most popular budget BB creams in India:
1. Maybelline Clearglow Bright Benefit Cream.
2. Garnier B.B Cream.
My skin type
Medium tone, wheatish. Acne-prone and Sensitive Skin.
What is a BB cream?
It is a cream used to treat blemishes and imperfections of the skin resulting in healthy looking skin.
M = Maybelline BB Cream.
G = Garnier BB Cream.
1. Shades
M - It has three shades- Nude, Natural and Radiance.
G - It has only one shade.
2. Price
M - Rs.199/- for 18ml.
G - Rs. 99/- (Introductory offer) for 18g and 199 for 40g.
3. Texture
For both the brands:
It is of semi thick liquid state.
M - Gives sheer to medium coverage.
G - Gives very very sheer coverage.
5. Finish
For both the brands:
You get a glowy healthy looking skin.
6. Packaging
For both the brands:
Comes in a small tube with a nozzle.
7. How to Apply
For both the brands:
Mix about a pea size with your moisturizer and apply dots on your face and neck and rub
in circular motion outwards.
8. Fragrance
M - It smells like.. mild vanilla? But not overpowering so do not worry.
G - It smells fresh and mildly fruity, but again not overpowering.
9. Woohoo's and Boo's
For Maybelline BB Cream
Woohoo's:
>>My skin looks even toned and glowy after application.
>>Stays for around 1 hour in outside mildly warm environment but after that leaves your skin with dewy finish.
>>Squeezing the product out can be totally controlled.
>>It is travel friendly.
>>Very lightweight on your skin.
>>Its good for daily wear as well as for summers since it has SPF 21.
Boo's:
>>IT BROKE ME OUT :(
>>Only three shades available, will definitely not suit all skin colors. I was lucky enough to get one closer to my skin shade (02 Radiance).
>>It doesn't treat your skin, its just for instant perfection.
>>It wont control sebum on face, you could set it with finishing powder.
*But i dont mind it, hence i skip the powder!
>>PLEASE do not apply this directly, any skin type, it will look flaky on your skin.
*Do not worry if it looks ghostly immediately after application, it will seep into your skin sooner.
Final Verdict:
Its perfect for those days you dont want anything on your skin and still want your skin to look almost perfect. But, I guess it wasnt just made for my skin obviously because it broke me out! Hence i will not be repurchasing this.
For Garnier BB Cream
Woohoo's:
>>It didnt break me out. Yay!

Final Verdict:
I dont mind if it doesnt give me proper coverage, but the overall look of my skin looks fresh. I loved the product and i liked its finish, ofcourse not better than Maybelline but atleast this didnt break me out. Hence, i will be repurchasing this.
